This week MCC continued restoration work on the pieces of the Steel House. They continued to remove ceiling panels from their steel channel frames, and remove the rust-inhibitor paint. MCC is also asking an engineer to certify a proposed repair for wall panes, which involves replacing the bottom six inches with a new piece that will be welded on.
MCC has made a mockup pannel of the paint coatings used throughout the house's history. Most of the paint from the 1930s was a light grey, but there are also layers of yellowish grey.
